How listings work
STL Team Finder is a directory of St. Louis-area youth sports programs. Each listing summarizes facts a program, club or league publishes about itself on its official website, with a link to that page and the date we last checked it. We currently list 226 programs.
What we include
- Organization, sport, ages or grades, published cost, tryout or evaluation dates, registration dates, season dates, practices, league, travel and location, when the program publishes them.
- Programs that are open to the public: anyone can register or try out, not only members of one school, parish or congregation.
- Church-run leagues are listed only when they're open to the public. If a league's official site doesn't clearly say registration is open to the public, we leave it out.
- Leagues limited to the members of a particular parish or school are not listed.
County and Area are our own approximate grouping to help you filter, based on where a program says it plays or is based. They are not a published address. Check the program's site for exact locations.
What "Not published" means
If the official page we checked didn't state a fact, we show "Not published." We never estimate, guess or fill gaps from other websites. The program may share the information directly, so contact them.
Dates and passed dates
Every listing shows a "last checked" date. A tryout or registration date that has already passed is marked "Date passed — check with the program." Programs change dates often, so always confirm before you go.
Our category: Rec, Club, Select, Travel, Training or Not specified
To help you filter, we put each program in a plain category based only on published facts:
- Rec: open registration with no tryout (city, YMCA and community leagues, learn-to-play programs).
- Club: teams formed through tryouts, evaluations or club selection.
- Select: the program uses the word "select" for its tryout-formed teams. We quote that wording on the listing.
- Travel: the program says it plays in a regional or national league (for example ECNL or a Tier 1 or Tier II hockey league).
- Training: an instruction or membership academy with no league team.
- Not specified: the published facts don't fit one category.
Our category is not a rating of quality, coaching, value or fit for your child. Where a program describes its own level, we quote its wording next to our category.
What we don't do
- We don't rate, rank, review or endorse any program.
- We don't publish children's names, photos, rosters or results.
- We don't sort by payment. Lists are alphabetical or by date.
- We don't copy logos or photos. Programs are identified by name only.
Where the information comes from
We read each program's official website, respect each site's robots.txt, and don't log in to anything. We link out to registration platforms rather than copying from them.
